We built a sheet with seventeen tabs before we told the children. One tab for the visa (L-1, intracompany, my name, his as dependent — we flipped it later when his role was the one they could actually defend). One for Cherry Creek School District, because a colleague had a niece there and that is how these decisions get made. One for the I-70 versus the A370, which is a joke tab that I did not delete because the commute comparison kept me honest: twenty-two minutes from Redland to the office, thirty-five from our place in Centennial to the DTC if I-25 has not decided otherwise.

I sold into dealer groups from a converted warehouse in Bristol. The Denver company makes the software those groups pretend they already use. 2020 was a stupid year to move and we moved anyway, in July, because the petition was approved and nobody was going to ask the consulate twice. The children started at Cherry Creek in the second week of August. Their old school in Redland did not break until the 21st.
